I. C. Holland: A True Minister

Director Steve Elsey recalls the first time he was introduced to I. C. Holland; it was by mail, and Bro. Holland had written across the top of his stationery: “Not to be ministered unto, but to minister.” Once Steve met Bro. Holland, he found a man who lived by these words.

This motto was true in many areas of Bro. Holland’s life, including his service to the World Mission Department.

Over a period of some 50 years, Bro. Holland served on the World Mission Board, some of those years as chairman. He volunteered his time for meetings, as well as many overseas trips. In July, Bro. Holland was called to heaven; he will be missed here, but he is now forever with the One he served.
