Completing the Task: Introducing a Disciple-Maker in Asia

What keeps you awake at night? For me, it is the words of Acts 20:24 — "I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace." There are words in this verse that both touch and convict my heart — “complete the task.”
God is wanting us Christians to be part of finishing the task, whether God calls us to live and minister in America or He calls us to take the gospel to those living in a land foreign from our own. So, whether here or there, Christians are called to be involved in completing the task. It is still unfinished.
An observation I have made is this: too many Christians live as though the task Jesus Christ has given us has been completed. For this reason, a sense of complacency can and has infiltrated many of our churches.
But the reality is this: THE TASK IS NOT YET COMPLETED! There is still much work to do. There are people and lands which still need to be reached for God.
The Churches of God (Holiness) may have opportunity to have a presence in a country where reaching those who do not know Christ and discipling new Christians is needed. It is a land where Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism are spreading. Secularism, humanism, and materialism are also invading the land. It is a land where it is becoming a challenge for missionaries to enter and serve.
But God has ways of opening doors. We believe this may be happening for Church of God (Holiness) World Missions.
One of the results of World Missions over the years is the coming forth of a faithful follower who is currently in an Asian context. This individual has been investigating, exploring, and praying for God to reveal where He would desire ministries to take place in this unreached country. The passion that drives this disciple to this country is the call of God to preach Christ where no one else has already built that same foundation.
The World Missions Board has reconnected with this disciple who has become fluent in the language, has adapted to the culture, and is being well-received by many. This follower of God plans to do further exploring and convey to the World Missions Board the possible ministry opportunities that are there. A reality is this: this faithful, passionate follower of God is facing high risks.
I am approaching you for your help:
Will you join in praying for this servant of God who is seeking God’s leading?
Will you pray for this individual to continue to sense God’s providential leading, protection from danger, and power that comes from the Holy Spirit?
Will you pray that doors to this country will continue to be opened for this faithful follower of God to be able to serve there?
Will you pray for the World Missions Board to know how we can support this brave disciple-maker?
Will you pray that local congregations will get involved in this new venture from God?
And will you consider giving financially to help offset the financial needs that this person has as exploration continues to take place, seeking to know God’s leading? Click here if you would like to give.
