The Revival We Need!
My eyes were glued. What I was watching was so powerful that I found myself attentively taking in every word that was being spoken. George Otis, Jr., the narrator for the video entitled “Transformations,” was saying, “ True spiritual revival is like a seething lava flow. It takes time to reach its destination. But when it does, its intense heat and formidable power alter everything in its path. It is the full measure of God’s kingdom come to earth.” He then proceeded to tel

What Is a Non-residential Missionary?
A reality of global missions is this: it is getting harder and harder for individuals to obtain residential visas to stay for long periods of time in many countries. Because of this increasing challenge, mission agencies are listing a new category of missionary service. It is called the “non-residential missionary.” David Garrison, in his book, The Nonresidential Missionary (Innovations in Mission) , put it this way: “ The nonresidential missionary is a career foreign mission

No Regrets
On May 17, 2008, Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman’s son struck his five-year-old adopted sister, Maria, as he was backing the family SUV out of the driveway. Due to her injuries, Maria died four days later. Chapman was devastated and felt he would never be able to sing again. One reason was that he was no longer sure he really believed the words he was singing. After a time, however, Chapman sensed he was to begin singing again. He began to sing the song Matt Redman w

Called to Be Bridge Builders
I became a Christian because I wanted to end up in heaven and not in hell when my life came to an end. On the day I made the decision to be a Christian, my heart was filled with great joy. I thought, “I now have my ticket to eternal life.” The problem was that the faith I possessed was very “Jim Lo focused.” It was about me. To be transparent, my main concern was that I would be ready for heaven. I really was not too concerned about the spiritual welfare of others. However,

Missions Day at General Camp
Friday, June 6, was Missions Day at General Camp of the Churches of God (Holiness). Each reported how God is working in the Caribbean and in Bolivia, South America. Videos and reports were shared from many fields. That evening, Dr. Jim spoke in the missions rally. He gave a stirring challenge that ended with 45 individuals coming forw

God's Call to Holiness
God is using Dr. Jim’s book, God’s Call to Holiness , in nine countries in Africa, where over 20,000 people have studied it. One 19-year-old young lady testified, “When I attended the holiness training out of curiosity, the book pierced my heart. For the first time, I read about a God who is not distant but desires relationship. That night, I whispered, 'Jesus, if You are real, come and live in me.' And He did."

An Echo of Eternity
Over Mother’s Day weekend, Dr. Jim Lo spoke at the Church of God (Holiness) in Brooklyn, New York, a Haitian congregation. He later wrote, “As I participated in worship I thought of the words found in Revelation 7:9, ‘... I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.’ “In the last two months I have been in services where worship was done in Spanish, Fr

Tears for the Lost
I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. Romans 9:2 “When was the last time you cried for those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior?” This question was asked of me by a student during the first semester I taught at Indiana Wesleyan University. I quickly replied, “I have been a pastor for four years. I then served as a missionary in Africa and Southeast Asia for around another 14 years…” Before I could finish articulating a full answer the student inte
