Dr. Jim Lo and Board Member Rod Davis traveled briefly to Myanmar in September. They were able to witness firsthand the devastation of recent flooding, as well as hear the difficulties the people have faced since the military coup in 2021. Yet, Dr. Lo and Pastor Rod also witnessed believers who have purposed to follow Christ and find their joy in Him. As the Director of World Missions for the Churches of God (Holiness) for over two months now, I would like to share my vision for what I believe the Holy Spirit has in store for the future of COGH World Missions. My vision is to see: An increased enthusiasm for souls to be saved; More missionary couples and individuals from our churches accepting God’s call; and An increase in giving—both in dollars and in numbers of churches within our association who participate. Translator Training Course 1 Next week is the second round of Translators’ Training Course 1 (TTC1) for the new translators in the Solos Language Program. In the last round we had 13 new Solos translators attend. Unfortunately, the Petats language team was not able to come, and a number of candidates from Inland Solos also did not attend. On August 7, 2024, World Missions lost a dear friend when former missionary and former director, Bill Hayton, went to be with the Lord. Bill and his wife, Linda, served as missionaries in the US and British Virgin Islands from 1969-1983. Bill served as Director of World Missions from 1983-2004. In later years, he also served as a board member. Bill was loved by many. His entire life was devoted to ministry and serving in the Kingdom of God. He will be missed. At the funeral,

Roxene Lo would serve as Office Manager, using her attention to details and her knowledge of accounting software to capably handle office duties and financial matters. Months of preparation are now nearing completion, and it is time to start the first of three two-week sessions of Translators’ Training Course 1 for new translators in the Solos and Petats languages. In the last newsletter we rejoiced that we were aiming for 12-15 new Solos translators and adding four new Petats translators. The committee has been working hard on awareness, and now we have 35 new translators signed up! Pray for these men and women as they come to the course,
