Prayer: A Highlight of Haiti Trip

Director Mark Surbrook and Rev. Richard Beckham traveled to Haiti in January to participate in the 2019 Convention, which began on a Thursday evening and concluded with dinner on Sunday. There were 500-600 people in attendance daily.

The days were full, with as many as four services, including a walk down to the river and a baptismal service on Saturday. There were precious times of worship and fellowship.

One of the most outstanding parts of the Convention was the prayer service at 5:00 a.m. each day. And even though the hour was early, still about 75% of the Convention attendees arrived at the church for the time of prayer. (See picture below.)

During Convention, 30 converts were baptized, and 6 deacons and 7 preachers were consecrated.

The Haitian Church is a vibrant group of believers, earnestly serving the Lord. Last month, tense days of rioting brought their nation to a standstill, but the situation seems to have stabilized, at least for now.

Thank you for your continued prayers for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
