Pray for those enduring continued unrest in Haiti. Gang members in Port-au-Prince have moved to the area of Delmas 6 and taken over, forcing our mother church not to meet for a while. The police were called in to help, but they could do little because the gang members own more powerful firearms. Gang members have also been in the area of our Cite Boston church. The church has been able to meet again, but please pray for protection for our brothers and sisters.

The Cayman Islands’ legislature recently debated whether same-sex couples have the right to enter a union similar to marriage. The country of Bolivia has been hit hard by COVID-19, including our churches there. At last report, we have lost 10 pastors and two pastor’s wives; one of the pastors was Felix Romero Poma, who was also our National Board Secretary. Out of 205 churches, this means that almost 5% have seen this virus take one of their leaders. Please pray for our brothers and sisters who are fighting this illness and grieving those departed.

Summer has been a return to our normal furlough schedule of travelling, visiting churches, and connecting with people. We’re so grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to share about Bible Translation in Papua New Guinea, as well as catching up with friends and acquaintances in various places. Please pray for our churches in Bolivia. More than 110 Evangelical pastors across the nation have died as a result of COVID-19, including at least 7 from our churches. Pastor Felix Romero, our National Board Secretary, passed away July 20. A lack of medical resources and care makes Bolivia susceptible to this devastating disease. Thank you for your prayers.
