"Peace...which I never had before"

Abram* gave his testimony at the 2019 Ghana Convention:

“I am Abram, a native Muslim by birth. Since I was born into that family, they say it is a must that I stay as a Muslim, else they will disown me. But I never ever have peace with myself and God anytime I perform prayers to Allah. I was like being forced to pray and love Allah. This haunted me for a long time.

“My dealings with the Christians in the village always gave me joy, and I believe Jesus was calling me to come to light and have peace. I gave my life to Jesus, and this has been met with a lot of hostility towards me; they threaten me with death, persecution here and there. I nearly gave up on my salvation because of their incessant threats. But after Pastor George led me to Christ, he didn’t leave me just like that; he was patient, spending precious and quality time with me to disciple me to be strong in Christ upon the family threats.

“My family drove me out of their family house, but I prefer it that way than to be in the family house and still be in bondage as a Muslim. . . . I used to have chronic illnesses, but since I came to Jesus, I have never had those sicknesses again.

“The Church of God Holiness in my village also received me well; they are more than family to me, and I didn’t feel I had lost a biological family. . . . I can say I am having some peace now which I never had before. As the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:37-39, ‘Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life . . . nor any creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’”
