Highlights from Cayman Brac
We are grateful for the continued leadership of Gayle and Micki Woods as pastor in Cayman Brac. Some recent highlights include: Dr. Woods baptized a new convert on the first Sunday in January. The young man, Sebastian Brown, was saved during a Sunday school class at Watering Place. The baptismal service was held at the high school swimming pool, and members from both churches attended. Church members have been challenged to read their Bibles through in 2024. Two members, in

New Pastor at Red Bay
On Sunday, August 20, Bro. Carlson Benjamin was installed as the new senior pastor of the Red Bay Church of God (Holiness) in Grand Cayman. For the last two years, Pastor Benjamin has been involved in ministry at Red Bay on a part-time basis. Rev. Philip Gumbs, as Chairman of the Caribbean Conference, was engaged in Red Bay’s pastoral search and was a part of the installation service, as well. We commend the Red Bay church board for their diligence in search of a pastor and i

VBS in Cayman Brac
From July 10 -14 we had Vacation Bible School at the Spot Bay church. The theme was “Jerusalem Marketplace.” We had up to 65 kids on a given night, although the total number was more than that since the attendance varied from night to night. It was a good time of ministering to the young people, and we pray that the message of the gospel found a place in their heart that will lead them to a life serving Jesus. Only two churches on the island had VBS this summer so we are pray

A Testimony from Cayman Brac
Mark Walton, a member of the Spot Bay church in Cayman Brac, passed away in January. Dr. Woods, his pastor, shared: “I loved to hear him tell of his conversion. He was a sailor (as were many of the older generation from this island). One day in 1960 one of the boilers on his oil tanker blew up. The whole ship was in flames and soon sank. Mark had severe burns on about 90% of his body and spent many months in a hospital in Brazil. “Mark said that when he was engulfed in flames

The Red Bay Church Honors Bro. Bob's Legacy
On Sunday, November 20, 2022, the Red Bay church in Grand Cayman held a special Service of Thanksgiving for a Faithful Servant, Rev. Robert Thompson, Jr. (Bro. Bob). The church brought Sis. Planting and Harvesting
Pictured: The Woods grow produce in raised garden beds. In Matthew 13, Jesus taught the Parable of the Sower. In that story, the farmer planted the seed of the Word of God. Some fell on hearts with fertile soil that brought forth a rich harvest. It’s a blessing to read Dr. Woods’ monthly reports and see the harvest being reaped in Cayman Brac due to his faithful leadership and planting the seed, in partnership with the local brothers and sisters’ faithfulness in the Spot Bay

Easter Celebrations in Cayman Brac
Dr. Gayle Woods, pastor in Cayman Brac, recently wrote about Easter activities: “Good Friday through Easter Monday are public holidays . . . It is the custom here to have a Good Friday service . . . Both churches gathered at the Spot Bay church where I preached a message I titled ‘Paid in Full’ . . . After the message I served communion to the participants. “That night we went to the Aston Rutty Civic center for the community Easter Cantata. I had been asked to give an invita

Honoring a Faithful Servant
We were saddened at the sudden passing of Bob Thompson, Jr, on March 19, 2022. Bro. Bob served as missionary in Jamaica from 1974-76, and with his wife, Cinda, served as pastor at the Red Bay church in Grand Cayman for 25 years from 1986-2011. He was also currently a member of the World Mission Board, in addition to pastoring the Mt. Zion Church of God (Holiness) in Ava, Missouri. Whether overseas or in the United States, Bro. Bob was respected and loved by many. His booming

Derailed Plans or a Divine Plot Twist?
It was a normal March Tuesday in Cayman Brac. Pastor Gayle Woods drove from the mission home near the bluff, intent on visiting ill parishioners at the hospital. But on this particular day, Dr. Woods’ vehicle interrupted his plans by running roughly, not getting up to speed, and belching black exhaust. Abandoning his original intent, Dr. Woods set his sights on N & N Auto Repair. As he was passing Market Place, the car seemed to be running a little better, so he decided to pa

Celebrating Faithful Ministry
In December of 2014, David and Zenia Woods began an adventure when they stepped off a plane on to the island of Cayman Brac with their boys, Joseph and Noah. For the next 3 ½ years, they pastored the two congregations in the Brac and grew to love their new home and the people there. In March of 2018, the Woods packed up again, this time to move to Grand Cayman, where they felt God was leading them to pastor the Red Bay church. This move was bringing Zenia back to the place an
